IELC - The Bargur project

Our Bargur project started as a collaboration between the Reverend Sabhapathi, Director of the Indian Evangelical Lutheran Society, and AF founder Ann Moideen. This project concentrates on developing the English language skills and computer literacy of the students in the Society, as well as allowing the Society’s teachers to enhance their own fluency in English.

Since the start of this project in July 2010, we have worked with 80 students and 14 teachers at the school. As a result of the generous support of donations and the efforts of seven volunteers, we raised more than $1000 for school uniforms, shoes and socks. Our aim is to continue this project into the indefinite future, contingent on funding to hire teachers.
